Pešćenica is located in the southeastern part of Zagreb and is characterized by its location in the flat area of the city. In the past, Pešćenica was part of the city's outskirts, but today it is known for its combination of residential and commercial use. The Borongaj Science and University Campus is also located in this neighborhood, whose vision is to become the largest campus and university center of excellence in Croatia. Pešćenica includes the neighborhoods of Volovčica, Borongaj, Ferenščica, Borovje, Savica-Šanci, Folnegovićevo naselje, Petruševec, Kozari putevi, Kozari Bok, Vukomerec, Resnik and Ivanja Reka.
